Fuenmayor

To visit Bodegas in Fuenmayor is to enter the heart of the best wine-growing area of La Rioja, being one of the most renowned municipalities. Its land has always been of an impressive quality for the cultivation of vines, but millions of years ago, the area had nothing to do with what it is today, as it was a marshy valley from which animal and plant remains have been recovered. It did not take long for the large wineries to set up, exploit the land and obtain a yield on an unimaginable scale from it, which has allowed them to monopolise a large part of the sales in the Rioja wine market and obtain internationally recognised prestige.
